εїз an invisibLe probLem εїз

Poverty is hunger. Poverty is lack of shelter. Poverty is being sick and not being able to see a doctor. Poverty is not being able to go to school, not knowing how to read, not being able to speak properly. Poverty is not having a job, fear for the future and living one day at a time. Poverty is loosing a child to illness brought about by unclean water. Poverty is powerlessness, lack of freedom, and etc.

Poverty does not have one clear definition. It is a complicated, multi-faceted concept. Poverty is an issue which society faces each day. It is a constant struggle that cannot be ignored. Defeating poverty would take great efforts and contributions from all.

Many citizens have become ruthless victims from poverty. Perhaps some of these people could have prevented their socioeconomic downfall by planning decisions and setting goals. There are many things that they must decide to do in order to eliminate themselves from being a victim of downward mobility. For each of their important decisions they have to set goals to reach. However, they should start falling from their socioeconomic status; they must be prepared to cope with the situations.

Poverty has stuck many people across the world. Many people have died because of the lack of food, clothing, and money. Poverty has raised the rate of crime due to the lack of essential items they need for survival. They have gone to many extremes, such as attempting to rob banks, supermarkets, etc.

Due to poverty also, many people cannot afford good living space. Most of them end up in living in allies, under bridges, streets, and etc. And because of this, there is much overcrowding in the major cities. With most of the poverty population living there this makes it easier to spread disease and other things.

Poverty has many faces, changing from place to place and across time, and has been described in many ways. Most often poverty is a situation people want to escape. So, poverty is a call to action – for the poor and the wealthy alike – a call to change the world so that many more may have enough to eat, adequate shelter, access to education and protection from violence.

Unfortunately, poverty is often an invisible problem. The voices of the poor are seldom heard. And what makes me feel like writing about this is the unwillingness of our society to deal with this.

Frustrated. Discouraged. Disappointed. = ((
I just hope that there will be a better solution to this kind of reality. = ))

εїз wHen wilL it END?? *sigh εїз

"BasiLan?? heh?? di ba madami yan bomba diyan?? mga putok pati kidnappings??" duh! oH pLease. [o.a ya gadd!] >.<

When people heard stories about Mindanao, particularly in Basilan, they would think that this place isn't a right one to live in. Bombings, kidnappings, terrorisms and such are their descriptions on my hometown. They would even called it as the "Land of Abu-Sayaff". imagine that??.. argg!

Honestly, i had experienced on such when i was in grade school. We lived at our dad's family for 11 years. There was a time when everybody in the house were in a rush to go downstairs in the middle of the night. My aunt woke me up, and all of us laid on the floor, covered our ears with our hands, crying, and asking for guidance from above. Gunshots! Boom! Boom! I was crying and praying because i saw my grandfather who is 73 at that time, my little brother, my cousins screaming. =' (( And so, i screamed too. (haha. katakot kaya)

Some would still ask about the happenings in Basilan, i would just simply say, "Oh! It's fine. 'Yung Jollibee namin dun, dalawang beses ng nabombahan. (*laughs)." Because for me, hearing those stories are already usual to me, and i won't be saying such, "what?? nabomba?? talaga??". Duh?? Having no bombs, kidnappings, gunshots and the like in Basilan will not be normal for the people living there. Because for them, it's already the normal one. = ))

But, don't you ever think?? MEDIA --- they influence people's minds. Yes, it is dangerous, but they EXAGGERATES.

Though, we are already used to such, still we are hoping that this will come to an end. We, the victims are hoping for peace. = ))

εїз caugHT my intErest εїз

"They didn't agree on much. In fact, they rarely agreed on anything. They fought all the time, and they challenged each other everyday. But, despite on their differences, they had one thing in common --- they were crazy about each other." --- THE NOTEBOOK quote.

I am not that interested in watching hollywood movies in such that, i can't relate on the words they've spoken and so with the story. But this movie really caught my interest. I was amazed on how the story was created.

"The Notebook" is an epic everlasting love story between an older man who reads aloud to an older woman whom he regularly visits. From a faded notebook (written by Allie), the old man's words bring to life the story about a couple who is separated when the young lady went to New York to study, but eventually, they passionately reunited, seven years later, after they have taken different paths. Though her memory has faded, his words give her the chance to relive her turbulent youth and the unforgettable love they shared. This beautiful tale has a particularly special meaning to an older gentleman ( NOAH) who regularly reads the timeless love story to his aging companion (ALLIE).

See? The story was really heartbreaking, yet it was amazing. I just can't help myself in watching this movie all over again. Actually, when i was in high school, i kept on telling my friends and classmates about this movie. And so, they find time to go at our house just to watch it. haha. It really inspires me. I hope i could find someone like NOAH in my life. When?? Soon! **Laughs.. = ))

εїз incOmparabLe NANAY εїз

Mother? I've got plenty. I have two mamas --- mama babes and mama joan, and i have two mamis, too --- mami dedette and mami mickOy. But, i used to call the one who gave birth to me as NANAY.

Honestly, we're not that close to each other, because i grew up with mami dedette for about six years. Nanay and i argue a lot of things. We don't unite on a certain thing --- almost everything. But, there was a time that i really felt loved by Nanay, no matter how we don't agree on much.

Back when i was in third year, there was a conflict between me and my friends --- betrayal. I felt alone all those times. i cried every night thinking that i was so stupid to trust them. i tried to hide it from Nanay, but then she saw the "pOst it" (written all the pain that i felt towards them) on the wall in my room. And so, tears fell down. ;(

There, i have seen how much she was concerned about me, how much she was angry at them for hurting me, how much she cared for me, how much she LOVED me. (sigh)

Nanay is one of the BEST that have in this world, aside from Tatay and my two siblings.

3 things that are difficult for me to say to Her:

**SORRY ... for being hard-headed.
... for being disobedient sometimes.
... for the wrong doings that i've done.

**THANK YOU ... for the love, care, comfort, support.
... for the advices you gave me.
... for being a NANAY always to us.

**ILOVEYOU ... though i am not uttering this 8-letter word, buT you know that WE LOVE YOU from the bottom of our hearts.

i hope you could read this, Nay... ;))
you'll never be replaced --- akung diLi mapuLihan nga INAhan, JEANNETTE PEREZ SUACITO.

incomparabLe NANAY! = )))
